वैशम्पायन उवाच
तस्मिन् सम्प्रस्थिते कृष्णा पृथां प्राप्य यशस्विनीम्।
अपृच्छद् भृशदु:खार्ता याश्चान्यास्तत्र योषित:॥ १॥
यथार्हं वन्दनाश्लेषान् कृत्वा गन्तुमियेष सा।
ततो निनाद: सुमहान् पाण्डवान्त:पुरेऽभवत्॥ २॥ |

| वैशम्पायन कहते हैं - युधिष्ठिर के चले जाने के बाद, कृष्ण प्रसिद्ध कुंती के पास गए और अत्यंत दुःखी होकर उनसे वन जाने की अनुमति माँगी। वहाँ बैठी अन्य सभी स्त्रियों को प्रणाम करके और उन सभी को गले लगाकर, उन्होंने वन जाने की इच्छा प्रकट की। तभी पांडवों के अंतःकक्षों में वेदना का महान आर्तनाद गूंज उठा। |
