वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं - जनमेजय! लोगों से नाना प्रकार की बातें सुनकर भी राजा युधिष्ठिर लज्जा के कारण तथा धृतराष्ट्र की आज्ञा का पालन करने के कारण धर्म के प्रति आदर के कारण पुनः जुआ खेलने के लिए तैयार हो गये।
