शकुनिरुवाच
यो वेत्ति संख्यां निकृतौ विधिज्ञ-
श्चेष्टास्वखिन्न: कितवोऽक्षजासु।
महामतिर्यश्च जानाति द्यूतं
स वै सर्वं सहते प्रक्रियासु॥ ७॥
अनुवाद
शकुनि ने कहा - जो व्यक्ति पहले से ही यह समझ लेता है कि पासे किस संख्या पर गिरेंगे, जो धोखेबाजों का मुकाबला करना जानता है और जो पासे फेंकने आदि सभी कार्यों में उत्साहपूर्वक संलग्न रहता है तथा जो अत्यंत बुद्धिमान है और पासों के खेल से संबंधित सभी बातों का ज्ञान रखता है, वही जुए का वास्तविक खिलाड़ी है; वह जुए के खेल में दूसरों के सभी बेईमान प्रयासों को सहन करता है।
Shakuni said - He who understands in advance the number on which the dice will fall, who knows how to counter the cheaters and who enthusiastically engages in all the activities like throwing the dice and who is extremely intelligent and has knowledge of all the things related to the game of dice, he is the real player of gambling; he tolerates all the dishonest attempts of others in the game of gambling.
