युधिष्ठिर! तुम नास्तिकता, मिथ्यात्व, क्रोध, प्रमाद, दीर्घसूत्रता, ज्ञानियों का संग न करना, आलस्य, पाँचों इन्द्रियों के विषयों में आसक्ति, केवल विषयों का चिन्तन, अर्थ-शास्त्र न जानने वाले मूर्खों से चर्चा, निश्चित कार्यों को आरम्भ करने में विलम्ब या टालमटोल, गुप्त मंत्रणा को सुरक्षित न रखना, शुभ उत्सव आदि न मनाना तथा एक ही समय में समस्त शत्रुओं पर आक्रमण करना - ये चौदह राजसी विषय हैं। तुम अपने दोषों का त्याग करो न? क्योंकि जिन राजाओं का राज्य दृढ़ है, वे भी इन्हीं दोषों के कारण नष्ट हो जाते हैं। 108—110॥
Yudhisthira! You are atheism, lies, anger, carelessness, long-windedness, not associating with wise people, laziness, attachment to the objects of the five senses, thinking about the subjects alone, discussions with fools who do not know economics, delay or procrastination in starting certain tasks, not keeping secret advice safe, not celebrating auspicious festivals etc. and attacking all the enemies at the same time - these fourteen royal matters. You give up your faults, don't you? Because even those kings whose kingdom is firmly established are destroyed due to these faults. 108—110॥
