वासुदेव इति ख्यातो लोकानां हितकृत् सदा।
वृष्णीनां च कुले जातो भूमे: प्रियचिकीर्षया॥

वे वासुदेव के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हैं। वे सदैव समस्त लोकों के कल्याण में लगे रहते हैं। भूदेवी के प्रिय कार्य करने की इच्छा से उन्होंने वृष्णि वंश में अवतार लिया है।
He is famous by the name of Vasudev. They are always engaged in the welfare of all the people. With the desire to do the work dear to Bhudevi, he has taken incarnation in Vrishni dynasty.
