वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं - जनमेजय! उस समय युधिष्ठिर के पूछने पर भीष्म ने राजाओं के समुदाय में इन्द्र के समान शोभायमान भगवान वसुदेव के सामने भरत के श्रेष्ठ शत्रु युधिष्ठिर से भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के उन अलौकिक कार्यों का वर्णन किया, जिन्हें कोई दूसरा कभी नहीं कर सकता था।
