विचित्र मालाओं से सुसज्जित तथा शुद्ध स्वर्ण की वेदियों से विभूषित वह राजमहल अत्यन्त सुन्दर प्रतीत हो रहा था। उस महल की इन सब सुन्दर विशेषताओं को देखकर घटोत्कचना ने जैसे ही भीतर प्रवेश किया, उसके कानों में मृदंग की मधुर ध्वनि सुनाई दी।
