वार्धुषी यज्ञसत्त्वानि गोरक्षं कर्षणं वणिक्॥ १२॥
विशेषात् सर्वमेवैतत् संजज्ञे राजकर्मणा।
अनुकर्षं च निष्कर्षं व्याधिपावकमूर्च्छनम्॥ १३॥
सर्वमेव न तत्रासीद् धर्मनित्ये युधिष्ठिरे।
अनुवाद
उन दिनों राजा के सुप्रबंध से जीविका, ब्याज, यज्ञ सामग्री, गोरक्षा, कृषि और व्यापार आदि में बड़ी उन्नति हुई। निर्धन प्रजा से पिछले वर्ष का कर नहीं लिया जाता था और न ही किसी को चालू वर्ष का कर वसूलने के लिए सताया जाता था। सदा धर्म में तत्पर रहने वाले युधिष्ठिर के राज्यकाल में रोग, अग्निकांड आदि क्लेश नहीं होते थे। ॥12-13 1/2॥
In those days, due to the good management of the king, there was a great progress in the livelihood of interest, materials for sacrifices, cow protection, agriculture and trade. The poor subjects were not charged the tax dues of the previous year and no one was harassed to collect the tax of the current year. During the reign of Yudhishthira, who was always devoted to Dharma, there were no troubles like diseases, outbreak of fire etc. ॥12-13 1/2॥
