ये राजकार्येषु पुरा व्यासक्ता नित्यशोऽभवन्।
ते राजकार्याणि तदा नाकार्षु: सर्वत: पुरे॥ २॥
प्रविष्टा इव शोकेन नाभ्यनन्दन्त किंचन।
सम्भाष्यमाणा अपि ते न किंचित् प्रत्यपूजयन्॥ ३॥
अनुवाद
जो लोग पहले प्रतिदिन राजकार्य में निरन्तर लगे रहते थे, वे उन दिनों नगर में कोई राजकार्य नहीं करते थे। उनके हृदय में मानो शोक छा गया था। उन्हें कुछ भी मिलने पर प्रसन्नता नहीं होती थी। यदि कोई उनसे बात भी करता, तो वे न तो उस पर ध्यान देते थे और न उसकी कद्र करते थे॥2-3॥
Those who earlier used to be constantly engaged in state work every day, did not do any state work in the city during those days. It was as if grief had taken up residence in their hearts. They were not happy on getting anything. Even if someone talked to them, they neither paid attention to that nor appreciated it.॥2-3॥
