वह दान-यज्ञ उफनते हुए समुद्र के समान प्रतीत हो रहा था। वस्त्र, धन और रत्न उसके प्रवाह थे। नगाड़ों की ध्वनि उस समुद्र की गर्जना थी। उसका रूप विशाल था। उसमें गाय, बैल और घोड़े मगरमच्छ और मधुमक्खियों के समान दिखाई दे रहे थे। वह विशाल रूप नाना प्रकार के रत्नों से बना था। दान में दिए गए गाँव और मुक्त भूमि उस समुद्र के द्वीप थे। वह रत्नों और सुवर्णमय जल से लबालब भरा हुआ था और धृतराष्ट्ररूपी पूर्णचंद्र को देखकर उसमें ज्वार उठ आया था। इस प्रकार उस दान-समुद्र ने समस्त संसार को जलमग्न कर दिया था। 13-14
That donation sacrifice appeared like a surging ocean. Clothes, wealth and gems were its flows. The sound of the drums was the roar of that ocean. Its form was huge. Cows, bulls and horses appeared like crocodiles and bees in it. That huge form was made of various types of gems. The villages and free land given in donation were the islands of that ocean. It was filled to the brim with gems and golden water and on seeing the full moon in the form of Dhritarashtra, a tide rose in it. In this way that ocean of donation had flooded the entire world. 13-14.
