हे प्रभु! उन्होंने देखा कि उनका पुत्र बभ्रुवाहन मुँह के बल लेटा हुआ किसी गहन विचार में मग्न है और युद्ध के लिए तत्पर उसका पिता उसे बार-बार डाँट रहा है। तब सुन्दर शरीर वाली नागकन्या उलूपी धर्मात्मा बभ्रुवाहन के पास आई और धर्मानुसार निम्नलिखित वचन बोली - ॥9-10॥
O Lord! He saw that his son Babhruvahana was lying with his face down, lost in some deep thought and his father, who was eager to fight, was repeatedly reprimanding him. Then the beautiful-bodied serpent girl Ulupi came to the righteous Babhruvahana and spoke the following words in accordance with the righteousness -॥9-10॥
