सत्त्वं वैकारिकी योनिरिन्द्रियाणां प्रकाशिका।
न हि सत्त्वात् परो धर्म: कश्चिदन्यो विधीयते॥ ९॥

सत्त्वगुण इन्द्रियों की उत्पत्ति का कारण है, इसे वैकारिक कारण माना गया है। यह इन्द्रियों और उनके विषयों को प्रकाशित करता है। सत्त्वगुण से बढ़कर कोई अन्य गुण नहीं बताया गया है।॥9॥
Sattva Guna is the reason for the origin of the senses, it is considered as the Vaikarik cause. It illuminates the senses and their objects. No other virtue has been described as being greater than Sattva Guna.॥ 9॥
