फिर जब उन्होंने उस उपदेश के अर्थ पर विचार किया, तब सबसे पहले सर्पों को दूसरों के द्वारा काटे जाने का भाव उत्पन्न हुआ, दैत्यों को स्वाभाविक अभिमान उत्पन्न हुआ, देवताओं ने दान को अपनाने का और महर्षियों ने विनम्रता को अपनाने का निश्चय किया॥9-10॥
Then when they pondered over the meaning of that advice, first of all the snakes got the feeling of being bitten by others, the demons got aroused with their natural pride, the Gods decided to adopt charity and the great sages decided to adopt humility.॥ 9-10॥
