नारदजी बोले- मुने! इस जीव को उत्पन्न करने वाले उपादान कारण के अतिरिक्त एक और पदार्थ भी आदि कारण के रूप में विद्यमान है। वह है आत्माओं का द्वंद्व। ऐसा समझना चाहिए कि वह ऊर्ध्वलोक (देवलोक), स्वर्गलोक (मनुष्यलोक) तथा अधोलोक (पशु आदि लोक) में व्याप्त है। 3॥
Naradji said-Mune! Apart from the material cause which gives rise to this living being, another substance is also present as the first cause. That is the conflict of souls. It should be understood that it is prevalent in the upper world (the world of gods), the world of heaven (the world of humans) and the underworld (the world of animals etc.). 3॥
