दस दिन से बछड़े न देने वाली गाय, ऊँटनी या भेड़ का दूध पीकर तथा मृत्यु और संतानोत्पत्ति के लिए प्रयुक्त भोजन खाकर चान्द्रायण व्रत का पालन करना चाहिए।
One should observe the Chandrayan fast after drinking the milk of a cow which has not been calved for even ten days, and the milk of a camel or a sheep, and after eating the food used for the ritual of death and childbirth.
