श्री भगवान बोले - राजन! जब देश में अकाल पड़ा हो, राष्ट्र पर कोई विपत्ति आई हो, जन्म-मृत्यु का शोक काल हो, तपती धूप में यात्रा करनी पड़े और इन सब कारणों से मनुष्य नियमों का पालन करने में असमर्थ हो तथा लंबी दूरी की यात्रा करने से अत्यधिक थकान हो, तो ऐसी स्थिति में यदि कोई ब्राह्मण, क्षत्रिय या वैश्य न मिले तो किसी शूद्र से भी थोड़ा-सा कच्चा अन्न लेकर जीविका चलायी जा सकती है।
Sri Bhagavan said - King! When there is a famine in the country, some calamity has befallen the nation, there is the period of mourning for a birth or death and one has to travel in the scorching sun and due to all these reasons one is unable to follow the rules and there is extreme fatigue due to travelling a long distance, then in such a situation if a Brahmin, Kshatriya or Vaishya is not available then a little raw food can be taken from a Shudra also for sustenance.
