भीष्म उवाच
साधोर्य: प्रतिगृह्णीयात् तथैवासाधुतो द्विज:।
गुणवत्यल्पदोष: स्यान्निर्गुणे तु निमज्जति॥ १९॥ |

| भीष्मजी बोले - राजन ! जो ब्राह्मण साधु अर्थात् अच्छे आचरण वाले से और असाधु अर्थात् बुरे गुणों और बुरे आचरण वाले से दान लेते हैं, उनमें से अच्छे गुणों और अच्छे आचरण वाले से दान लेने में कम दोष लगता है। परन्तु जो बुरे गुणों और बुरे आचरण वाले से दान लेता है, वह पाप में डूब जाता है ॥19॥ |

| Bhishmaji said – King! Among the Brahmins who accept donations from a Sadhu i.e. a person with good conduct and from an Asadhu i.e. a person with bad qualities and bad conduct, there is less fault in accepting donations from a person with good virtues and conduct. But the one who accepts charity from someone with bad qualities and misconduct sinks into sin. 19॥ |
