अब मैं पांकतेय ब्राह्मणों का वर्णन करूँगा। उन्हें ही पाण्टिकपुरे जानना चाहिए। जो तृणाचिकेत नामक मन्त्रों का जप करता है, गार्हपत्य आदि पाँच अग्नियों का भस्म करता है, त्रिसुपर्ण (त्रिसुपर्णमित्य आदि) नामक मन्त्रों का पाठ करता है और 'ब्रह्ममेतु माम्' आदि तैत्तिरीय-प्रसिद्ध विद्याओं के छह अंगों का ज्ञान रखता है, ये सभी शुद्ध हैं। 26॥
Now I will describe the Pankteya Brahmins. Only they should be known as Pantikpure. The one who chants the mantras called Trinachiket, consumes the five fires like Garhapatya, recites the mantras called Trisuparna (Trisuparnamitya etc.) and has the knowledge of the six limbs of the Taittiriya-famous teachings like 'Brahmametu Maam' etc., all these are the pure ones. 26॥
