राज्यं हि सततं दु:खं दुर्धरं चाकृतात्मभि:।
भूयिष्ठं च नरेन्द्राणां विद्यते न शुभा गति:॥ २॥
अनुवाद
राज्य सदैव दुःखों से भरा रहता है। जिन लोगों ने अपने मन को वश में नहीं किया है, उनके लिए राज्य को सुरक्षित रखना बहुत कठिन होता है। इसीलिए राजाओं को प्रायः सौभाग्य की प्राप्ति नहीं होती॥ 2॥
A kingdom is always full of sorrow. It is very difficult for those who have not controlled their mind to keep the kingdom safe. That is why kings usually do not attain good fortune.॥ 2॥
