सृष्टि के आदि में स्वयंभू ब्रह्माजी ने प्रजापति दक्ष को प्रजा की रचना करने का आदेश दिया, किन्तु प्रजापति दक्ष ने प्रजा के कल्याण की इच्छा रखते हुए सबसे पहले उनकी जीविका की रचना की ॥11॥
