यज्ञे राष्ट्राद् धनं तस्मादानयध्वमिति ब्रुवन्॥ २१॥
यच्चादाय तदाज्ञप्तं भीतं दत्तं सुदारुणम्।
यजेद् राजा न तं यज्ञं प्रशंसन्त्यस्य साधव:॥ २२॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | जो राजा अपनी प्रजा से कर के रूप में प्राप्त धन को राजकोष की रक्षा करने वाले कोषाध्यक्ष को देकर राजकोष में जमा करवाता है और अपने कर्मचारियों को राज्य से धन एकत्र करके यज्ञ के लिए लाने का आदेश देता है, तथा जो यज्ञ के नाम पर राज्य की प्रजा को लूटता है और जो अपनी आज्ञा के अनुसार लोगों को डरा-धमकाकर निर्दयतापूर्वक एकत्रित धन से यज्ञ करता है, ऐसे राजा द्वारा किया गया यज्ञ महापुरुषों द्वारा प्रशंसनीय नहीं है ॥21-22॥ | | | | A king who gives the money received as tax from his subjects to the treasurer who safeguards the treasury and gets it deposited in the treasury and orders his employees to collect money from the kingdom and bring it for the yajna, and who plunders the subjects of the kingdom in the name of yajna and who performs yajna using the money collected ruthlessly by threatening and intimidating people as per his orders, such a yajna performed by such a king is not praised by the great men. ॥21-22॥ | | ✨ ai-generated | | |
