भीष्म बोले - युधिष्ठिर! भिक्षा मांगने वाले को देने की अपेक्षा, भिक्षा न मांगने वाले को देना अधिक श्रेष्ठ तथा लाभदायक माना गया है। तथा अधीर एवं कृपण व्यक्ति की अपेक्षा धैर्यवान व्यक्ति अधिक आदर के योग्य है।॥ 2॥
Bhishma said - Yudhishthira! Giving to a person who does not beg is considered to be better and more beneficial than giving to a person who begs. And a person who has patience is more worthy of respect than an impatient and miserly person.॥ 2॥
