समुद्र के सूख जाने या पीछे हट जाने के कारण वहाँ का सम्पूर्ण स्थान बंजर हो गया। उस देश में बहने वाली सरस्वती नदी से द्विजश्रेष्ठ उतथ्य ने कहा - 'भयभीत सरस्वती! तुम अदृश्य होकर मरुभूमि में चली जाओ। शुभ हो! तुम्हारे द्वारा त्याग दिए जाने पर यह देश अपवित्र हो जाएगा।' 26-27॥
‘Due to the drying up or receding of the sea, the entire place there became barren. To the river Saraswati flowing through that country, Dwijashreshtha Uthathy said – 'Fearful Saraswati! You become invisible and go to the desert. Good luck! This country will become impure after being abandoned by you. 26-27॥
