इस प्रकार अग्नि और सोम को आहुति देकर उनके समीप पितरों के लिए होम करें तथा दक्षिणाभिमुख होकर दाहिने कंधे पर जनेऊ अर्थात पवित्र धागा रखकर पितरों का नाम और गोत्र बोलते हुए कुशाओं पर तीन पिंड अर्पित करें। उन पिंडों को अंगूठे से नहीं छूना चाहिए।
In this way, after offering oblations to Agni and Soma, perform 'Homa' for the ancestors near them and face southwards, keeping the sacred thread i.e. sacred thread on the right shoulder and offering three Pindas on the Kushas while reciting the name and Gotra of the ancestors. Those bodies should not be touched by the thumb.
