श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
तदहं ते प्रवक्ष्यामि शृणु सर्वं समाहिता॥
ये पुरा मनुजा देवि आढ्या वा इतरेऽपि वा।
श्रुतवृत्तसमायुक्ता दानकामा: श्रुतप्रिया:॥
परेङ्गितपरा नित्यं दातव्यमिति निश्चिता:।
सत्यसंधा: क्षमाशीला लोभमोहविवर्जिता:॥
दातार: पात्रतो दानं व्रतैर्नियमसंयुता:।
स्वदु:खमिव संस्मृत्य परदु:खविवर्जिता:॥
सौम्यशीला: शुभाचारा देवब्राह्मणपूजका:॥
एवंशीलसमाचारा: पुनर्जन्मनि शोभने।
दिवि वा भुवि वा देवि जायन्ते कर्मभोगिन:॥
अनुवाद
श्री महेश्वर बोले - देवी! मैं तुमसे यह कह रहा हूँ, तुम एकाग्र होकर सब कुछ सुनो। जो धनवान या निर्धन मनुष्य पहले से ही शास्त्रों के ज्ञान और सदाचार से युक्त हैं, दान देने में तत्पर हैं, शास्त्रों के प्रेमी हैं, दूसरों के हाव-भाव को समझकर दान देने में सदैव दृढ़ निश्चय रखते हैं, सत्यवादी हैं, क्षमाशील हैं, लोभ और मोह से रहित हैं, सुपात्र को दान देते हैं, व्रत और नियमों का पालन करते हैं तथा दूसरों के दुःख को अपना दुःख समझकर किसी को दुःख नहीं देते, जिनका चरित्र और स्वभाव सौम्य है, जिनका आचरण और व्यवहार अच्छा है, जो देवताओं और ब्राह्मणों की पूजा करते हैं, हे सुंदरी देवी! ऐसे सदाचार और अच्छे आचरण वाले मनुष्य पुनर्जन्म लेकर स्वर्ग या पृथ्वी पर अपने पुण्य कर्मों का फल भोगते हैं।
Shri Maheshwar said - Goddess! I am telling you this, you listen to everything with concentration. Those wealthy or poor people who are first endowed with knowledge of scriptures and good conduct, willing to give charity, lovers of scriptures, always have a firm resolve to give charity by understanding the gestures of others, truthful, forgiving, free from greed and attachment, give charity to the deserving, follow fasts and rules and do not give pain to anyone by understanding the pain of others as their own, whose character and nature is gentle, whose conduct and behavior are good, who worship the gods and Brahmins, beautiful Goddess! Such human beings with good conduct and good conduct enjoy the fruits of their good deeds in heaven or on earth after being reborn.
