प्राचीन काल की बात है, चारों ओर हाहाकार मचा हुआ था। प्रजा घोर संकट से जूझ रही थी। प्रजा की व्यथित अवस्था देखकर ब्रह्माजी ने मनु को राजगद्दी पर बिठाया।
