भरतनंदन! इस प्रकार महादेवजी की महिमा से संबंधित कथाएँ सुनाते हुए उस मुनि के आठ दिन क्षण भर के समान बीत गए। आठवें दिन श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मण उपमन्यु ने विधिपूर्वक मुझे दीक्षा दी।
