अतिथीनामाभिमुख्यं तत्परत्वं च सर्वदा॥
पाद्यासनाभ्यां सम्पूज्य तथाहारनिमन्त्रणम्।
अग्राम्यपचनं काले पितृदेवार्चनं तथा॥
पश्चादतिथिसत्कारस्तस्य धर्मा: सनातना:। |

| पहले अतिथियों के पास जाओ, फिर उनकी सेवा में तत्पर रहो। चरण-पूजा और आसन आदि से उनका पूजन करो और उन्हें भोजन के लिए आमंत्रित करो। गाँव में जो वस्तुएँ उत्पन्न न होती हों, उनसे उचित समय पर भोजन तैयार करो। उस भोजन से पहले देवताओं और पितरों का पूजन करो। फिर अतिथि को आदरपूर्वक भोजन कराओ। ऐसा करने वाला वानप्रस्थ सनातन धर्म की सिद्धि प्राप्त करता है। |

| First go to the guests, then always be ready to serve them. Worship them with foot-dry and seat etc. and invite them for food. Prepare food at the right time with such things which are not produced in the village. First worship the gods and ancestors with that food. Then feed the guest with respect. A Vanaprastha who does this attains the success of Sanatan Dharma. |
