पुत्रदारधनं धान्यं न मृताननुगच्छति॥

यदि पालन-पोषण योग्य परिवारजनों को, उन्हें थोड़ा कष्ट देकर भी, दान दिया जा सके, तो दान श्रेष्ठ माना जाता है। पत्नी, पुत्र, धन और धान्य - ये वस्तुएँ मृत मनुष्य के साथ नहीं जातीं।
If charity can be given to family members who are capable of being supported, even by putting them through a little trouble, then charity is considered to be the best. Wife, son, wealth and grains - these things do not go with the dead men.
