भीष्मजी कहते हैं - हे युधिष्ठिर! वह पूर्व कीड़ा महर्षि वेदव्यास के वचन सुनकर धर्मानुसार प्रजा की सेवा करने लगा। तत्पश्चात् वह पुनः वन में चला गया और प्रजा के धर्म के प्रभाव से थोड़े ही समय में परलोकवासी होकर ब्राह्मण कुल में उत्पन्न हुआ।
Bhishmaji says – The best Yudhishthir! That former insect, after listening to the words of Maharishi Ved Vyas, started serving the people according to religion. After that, he again went to the forest and within a short time became a resident of the other world and was born in a Brahmin family due to the influence of the religion of following people. 6-7॥
