मां स भक्षयते यस्माद् भक्षयिष्ये तमप्यहम्।
एतन्मांसस्य मांसत्वमनुबुद्ध्यस्व भारत॥ २५॥
अनुवाद
हे भरतनन्दन! (जिसे मारा जाता है, वह जीव कहता है—) ‘मां स भक्षयते यस्माद् भक्षयिष्ये तम्प्याहम्।’ अर्थात् ‘आज वह मुझे खाता है और किसी दिन मैं भी उसे खाऊँगा।’ यह मांस का मांसलपन है—इसे ही मांस शब्द का अर्थ समझो। 25॥
Bharatnandan! (The one who is killed, the creature says—) ‘Maa sa bhakshayate yasmad bhakshayishye tampyaham.’ Meaning, ‘Today he eats me and someday I too will eat him.’ This is the fleshiness of the flesh – understand this as the meaning of the word flesh. 25॥
