इन्द्रस्तु विस्मितो दृष्ट्वा स्त्रियं पप्रच्छ तां पुन:।
पुरुषोत्पादिता ये ते कथं द्वेष्या: सुतास्तव॥ ४५॥
स्त्रीभूतस्य हि ये जाता: स्नेहस्तेभ्योऽधिक: कथम्।
कारणं श्रोतुमिच्छामि तन्मे वक्तुमिहार्हसि॥ ४६॥
अनुवाद
तब इन्द्र ने आश्चर्यचकित होकर उस स्त्री से पूछा - 'तुमने पुरुष रूप में जिन पुत्रों को जन्म दिया था, वे ही तुम्हारे द्वेष के पात्र क्यों हो गए? और जिनको तुमने स्त्री रूप में जन्म दिया था, उनके प्रति तुम्हें अधिक स्नेह क्यों है? मैं इसका कारण सुनना चाहता हूँ। तुम मुझे यह बताओ।'॥45-46॥
Then Indra was astonished and asked the woman, 'Why did the sons whom you gave birth to in the form of a man become the object of your hatred? And why do you have more affection for those whom you gave birth to in the form of a woman? I want to hear the reason for this. You should tell me this.'॥ 45-46॥
