प्रत्याख्याने च दाने च सुखदु:खे प्रियाप्रिये।
आत्मौपम्येन पुरुष: प्रमाणमधिगच्छति॥ ९॥
अनुवाद
जैसे मनुष्य मांगने पर देने या न देने से, सुख या दुःख देने से, तथा प्रिय या अप्रिय कर्म करने से स्वयं सुख-दुःख का अनुभव करता है, वैसे ही उसे दूसरों के लिए भी ऐसा ही समझना चाहिए। ॥9॥
Just as a man himself experiences happiness and sorrow by giving or refusing when asked, by causing pleasure or pain, and by doing things that are pleasant or unpleasant, he should understand the same for others as well. ॥9॥
