न तु वध्यधनं तिष्ठेत् पिबेयुर्ब्राह्मणा: पय:।
युञ्जीरन्नप्यनडुह: क्षन्तव्यं वा तदा भवेत्॥ ६॥
अनुवाद
यदि किसी चोर या अन्य अपराधी का धन लाया जाए तो उसे अपने पास न रखें (सार्वजनिक कार्यों में लगा दें) और यदि कोई गाय छीनकर लाई गई हो तो उसका दूध स्वयं पीने के स्थान पर ब्राह्मणों को दे दें। यदि बैल हों तो उन्हें भी ब्राह्मण ही गाड़ी आदि में जोत दें अथवा यदि चोरी के माल या धन का स्वामी आकर क्षमा याचना करे तो उसे क्षमा कर देना चाहिए और उसका धन उसे लौटा देना चाहिए।
If the money of a thief or other criminal is brought, he should not keep it with himself (it should be used for public works) and if a cow has been brought after being snatched, then instead of drinking its milk himself, he should give it to Brahmins. If there are bulls, then only Brahmins should harness them to the cart etc. or if the owner of the stolen goods or money comes and pleads for forgiveness, he should be forgiven and his money should be returned to him. 6.
