असंशयं निवर्तेत न चेद् वक्ष्यत्यत: परम्।
पूर्वं परोक्षं कर्तव्यमेतत् कौन्तेय शाश्वतम्॥ ५॥ |

| यह सुनकर वह अवश्य लौट आएगा। यदि इसके बाद भी वह कुछ न कहे, तो राजा को यह कहना चाहिए - 'प्रभो! हे कुन्तीपुत्र! मैंने पूर्वकाल में जो पाप किए हैं, उन्हें भूल जाइए! इस प्रकार नम्रतापूर्वक ब्राह्मण को प्रसन्न करना राजा का सनातन कर्तव्य है।॥5॥ |

| On hearing this he will surely return. If even after this he does not say anything then the king should say this - 'Lord! Forget the sins I have committed in the past, O son of Kunti! It is the eternal duty of the king to please the Brahmin in this manner with humility. ॥ 5॥ |
