भीष्म उवाच
व्यवहारेण शुद्धेन प्रजापालनतत्पर:।
प्राप्य धर्मं च कीर्तिं च लोकानाप्नोत्युभौ शुचि:॥ २॥
अनुवाद
भीष्मजी बोले - राजन! जो राजा बाहर-भीतर से पवित्र रहता है और शुद्ध आचरण से प्रजा की सेवा में तत्पर रहता है, वह धर्म और यश को प्राप्त करता है तथा इस लोक और परलोक दोनों को सुधारता है॥2॥
Bhishmaji said – King! The king who remains pure from within and out and is ready to serve his people with pure behavior, attains religion and fame and improves both this world and the next world. 2॥
