तब पुरोहित सहित कुबेर ने राजा मुचुकुन्द से कहा - 'हे पृथ्वी के राजा! मैं भगवान की आज्ञा के बिना न तो किसी को राज्य देता हूँ और न ही भगवान की आज्ञा के बिना किसी का राज्य छीनता हूँ। यह बात आपको अच्छी तरह समझ लेनी चाहिए। यदि ऐसी बात है, तो भी मैं आज आपको इस सम्पूर्ण पृथ्वी का राज्य दे रहा हूँ। आप मेरे द्वारा दी गई इस सम्पूर्ण पृथ्वी पर शासन करें।' उनके ऐसा कहने पर राजा मुचुकुन्द ने इस प्रकार उत्तर दिया। 16-17.
Then Kubera along with the priest said to King Muchukunda - 'O King of the Earth! I neither give the kingdom to anyone without the permission of God nor do I take away the kingdom of another without the permission of God. You should understand this very well. Even if this is the case, still today I am giving you the kingdom of this entire earth. You rule this entire earth given by me.' On his saying this, King Muchukunda replied in this manner. 16-17.
