युधिष्ठिर! जिस प्रकार तीनों वर्णों के कर्तव्य क्षत्रिय-धर्म में सम्मिलित बताए गए हैं, उसी प्रकार नैष्ठिक ब्रह्मचारी, वानप्रस्थ और तपस्वी - इन तीनों आश्रमों में रहने वाले ब्राह्मणों के कर्तव्य गृहस्थाश्रम में सम्मिलित हैं॥6॥
Yudhishthira! Just as the duties of the three varnas have been described earlier as included in the kshatriya-dharma, in the same way the duties of the Brahmins in the three ashrams - Naishthik Brahmachari, Vanaprastha and Ascetic - are included in the Grihasthyashram.॥ 6॥
