भगवान शिव ने लोगों की आयु क्षीण होती जानकर ब्रह्माजी द्वारा रचित इस महान अर्थ से परिपूर्ण शास्त्र को संक्षिप्त कर दिया था; इसीलिए इसका नाम 'वैशालक्ष' हो गया। तब इन्द्र ने इसे स्वीकार कर लिया। 81 1/2॥
Vishalaksh Lord Shiva, knowing that the life span of the people was decreasing, had condensed this scripture full of great meaning written by Brahmaji; That's why its name became 'Vaishalaksh'. Then Indra accepted it. 81 1/2॥
