वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं - राजन! श्रीकृष्ण के वचन सुनकर कुरुकुल के आनन्द को बढ़ाने वाले तेजस्वी भीष्मजी बोले - 'गोविन्द! आप समस्त प्राणियों के सनातन आत्मा हैं। आपके आशीर्वाद से मेरी वाणी शक्ति दृढ़ हो गई है और मेरा मन भी स्थिर हो गया है; अतः मैं समस्त धर्मों का उपदेश करूँगा।'
