नगर में प्रवेश करते ही धर्मज्ञ कुन्तीपुत्र युधिष्ठिर ने देवताओं और सहस्रों ब्राह्मणों का पूजन किया। तत्पश्चात्, वे कम्बल और मृगचर्म से आच्छादित, पवित्र मन्त्रों से पूजित तथा शुभ गुणों वाले सोलह श्वेत बैलों से जुते हुए, एक नवीन, उज्ज्वल रथ पर सवार होकर उसी प्रकार चले, जैसे चन्द्रदेव अपने अमृतमय रथ पर सवार होकर बन्धुओं के मुख से अपनी स्तुति सुनते हैं।
On entering the city, Yudhishthira, son of Kunti, who knew Dharma, worshipped the gods and thousands of Brahmins. Thereafter, on a new and bright chariot covered with blankets and deerskin, which was worshipped with sacred mantras and which was harnessed by sixteen white bulls having auspicious characteristics, he rode in the same manner as the Moon God rides on his nectar-like chariot, listening to his praises from the mouths of the captives.
