न वै देयमनुक्रोशाद् दीनायाप्यपकारिणे।
आप्ताचरित इत्येव धर्म इत्येव वा पुन:॥ ४४॥
अनुवाद
परंतु यदि कोई दूसरों का अनिष्ट कर रहा हो, तो चाहे वह दरिद्र ही क्यों न हो, दया करके उसे कुछ नहीं देना चाहिए। यही सभ्य पुरुषों का आचरण है और यही धर्म है॥ 44॥
‘But if someone is doing harm to others, even if he is poor, one should not give him anything out of pity. This is the behavior of the cultured and this is Dharma.॥ 44॥
