भारत! इसी प्रकार देवताओं ने पृथ्वी को वश में करके उन अट्ठासी हजार ब्राह्मणों को भी मार डाला, जो तीनों लोकों में शालवृक नाम से विख्यात थे, जो वेदों के अच्छे ज्ञाता थे और जो अभिमान से मदमस्त होकर दैत्यों की सहायता करने के लिए उनके पक्ष में जा मिले थे॥ 28-29॥
Bharat! Similarly, after subjugating the earth, the gods also killed those eighty-eight thousand Brahmins, renowned by the name of Shalavrik in the three worlds, who were well versed in the Vedas and who, intoxicated by pride, had joined the side of the demons to help them.॥ 28-29॥
