भारं स वहते तस्य ग्रन्थस्यार्थं न वेत्ति य:।
यस्तु ग्रन्थार्थतत्त्वज्ञो नास्य ग्रन्थागमो वृथा॥ १४॥
अनुवाद
जो मनुष्य किसी ग्रन्थ का अर्थ नहीं समझता, वह उसे रटकर केवल उसका बोझ ढोता है; परन्तु जो उसके अर्थ का सार समझता है, उसके लिए ग्रन्थ का अध्ययन करना व्यर्थ नहीं है ॥14॥
One who does not understand the meaning of a text, merely carries the burden of the text by rote learning it; but for one who understands the essence of its meaning, studying the text is not futile. ॥ 14॥
