जनक उवाच
किं श्रेय: का गतिर्ब्रह्मन् किं कृतं न विनश्यति।
क्व गतो न निवर्तेत तन्मे ब्रूहि महामते॥ २॥
अनुवाद
जनक बोले, "ब्रह्म! मोक्ष प्राप्ति का साधन क्या है? उत्तम गति कौन सी है? कौन सा कर्म नष्ट नहीं होता और कहाँ गया हुआ जीवात्मा इस संसार में लौटकर नहीं आता? हे महात्मन! कृपया मेरे इन प्रश्नों का समाधान कीजिए॥ 2॥
Janaka said, "Brahman! What is the means of attaining salvation? Which is the best destination? Which deed is not destroyed and where does the soul that has gone does not return to this world? O great one! Please solve these questions of mine.॥ 2॥
