राजन! कायर क्षत्रिय, सब कुछ खाने वाला ब्राह्मण (खाने या खाने का विचार भी न करने वाला), धनोपार्जन का प्रयत्न न करने वाला वैश्य अथवा आलसी शूद्र, सद्गुणों से रहित विद्वान, सदाचार का पालन न करने वाला कुलीन पुरुष, सत्य से भ्रष्ट धार्मिक पुरुष, दुष्टाचारिणी स्त्री, विषय-भोगों में आसक्त योगी, केवल अपने लिए भोजन पकाने वाला पुरुष, मूर्ख वक्ता, राजा से रहित राष्ट्र और प्रजा के प्रति उदासीन राजा - ये सब शोक करने योग्य हैं अर्थात निन्दनीय हैं॥25-26॥
Rajan! A cowardly Kshatriya, a Brahmin who eats everything (without even thinking about whether to eat or eat), a Vaishya without any effort to earn money or an indolent Shudra, a scholar without good qualities, a noble man who does not follow good conduct, a religious man who is corrupted by truth, a woman who is wicked, a yogi who is obsessed with sensual pleasures, a man who cooks food only for himself, a foolish speaker, a nation without a king, and a person who is indifferent towards the people. A king who does not have affection - all of them are worthy of mourning, that is, they are condemnable. 25-26॥
इति श्रीमहाभारते शान्तिपर्वणि मोक्षधर्मपर्वणि पराशरगीतायां नवत्यधिकद्विशततमोऽध्याय:॥ २९०॥
इस प्रकार श्रीमहाभारत शान्तिपर्वके अन्तर्गत मोक्षधर्मपर्वमें पराशरगीताविषयक दो सौ नब्बेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ॥ २९०॥
