जैसे ताँबे के बर्तनों पर सोना-चाँदी मढ़ देने से वे एक जैसे दिखने लगते हैं, वैसे ही पूर्वकर्मों के वश में प्राणी पूर्वकर्मों में ही आसक्त रहता है (पुण्यकर्मों में आसक्त होने के कारण सुखी होता है और पापों में आसक्त होने के कारण दुःख भोगना पड़ता है)।॥11॥
Just as when utensils made of copper are coated with gold and silver, they start looking the same. Similarly, a being under the influence of his past karmas remains attached to his past karmas (he is happy due to being attached to pious karmas and has to bear sorrow due to being attached to sins).॥11॥
