आप चण्ड हैं, क्योंकि आप दुष्टों पर अत्यंत क्रोध करते हैं। कुण्ड के जल के समान सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड आपके उदर में स्थित है, इसलिए आप कुण्ड कहलाते हैं। आप अण्ड (ब्रह्माण्ड के स्वरूप) और अन्धधर (ब्रह्माण्ड को धारण करने वाले) हैं। आप दण्डधारी (सबको दण्ड देने वाले) और संकरण (सबकी समान रूप से सुनने वाले) हैं। दण्ड धारण करके सिर मुँड़वाने वाले संन्यासी भी आपके ही स्वरूप हैं, इसलिए आपका नाम दण्डीमुण्ड है। आपको नमस्कार है॥ 79॥
You are Chanda because you are extremely angry with the wicked. Like water in a Kunda, the entire universe is situated in your stomach, therefore you are called Kunda. You are Anda (the form of the universe) and Andhadhar (the one who holds the universe). You are Dandadhari (the one who punishes everyone) and Samkaran (the one who listens to everyone equally). The Sanyasis who shave their heads after holding a Danda are also your form, therefore your name is Dandimund. Salutations to you.॥ 79॥
