आलस्य सुखरूप प्रतीत होता है, किन्तु उसका अन्त दुःख है और कार्यकुशलता दुःखरूप प्रतीत होती है, किन्तु उससे सुख उत्पन्न होता है। इसके अतिरिक्त धन, लक्ष्मी, शील, धैर्य और यश- ये कार्यकुशल व्यक्ति में ही निवास करते हैं, आलसी व्यक्ति में नहीं ॥31॥
Laziness appears to be a form of happiness, but its end is sorrow and efficiency appears to be a form of sorrow, but it gives rise to happiness. Apart from this, wealth, Lakshmi, modesty, patience and fame - these reside only in an efficient person, not in a lazy person. ॥ 31॥
