युधिष्ठिर ने पूछा - पितामह! आप मुझे वह योग बताइए जिससे मनुष्य प्राणियों को कष्ट पहुँचाए बिना शम-दम आदि छह गुणों को प्राप्त कर सकें और वह धर्म बताइए जिससे भोग और मोक्ष दोनों फलों की प्राप्ति हो सके।॥1॥
Yudhishthir asked – Grandfather! Tell me the Yoga which enables humans to attain the six qualities of Sham-Dama etc. without harming the living beings and the religion which enables them to attain both the fruits of enjoyment and salvation. 1॥
